CORONAVIRUS UPDATE - 12 MARCH 2020
I am deeply sorry to have to write this message. As of the announcement by the US Federal Government last night on 11 March 2020, creating an almost complete travel ban from the European countries to the United States for at least 30 days, this travel ban has made it impossible for the theaters who are confirmed to come to the April 2-3-4 NYC NYIOP Auditions to arrive into the USA. As stated on our website and Facebook page, all of the confirmed theaters have already purchased their flights and reserved their hotels but will no longer be permitted into the USA to hear you.
This means we must POSTPONE the April NYC NYIOP Auditions.
As per the Legal and Privacy / force majeure section listed on our website and also the Terms and Conditions info, opted in on all Registrations via the system (info is here to read: https://www.nyiop.com/legal-and-privacy), ALL registrations will be held as 100% credit in full and all registered singers will be registered for the new dates, once they are set. If the new dates do not work for your schedule, other options will be offered on a one by one situation. No fees will be refunded, without exception. Please respect this, as significant costs have already been incurred and this process is being undertaken as a result of a federal travel ban and thru no actions of NYIOP.
We are already working today to find new date possibilities and availability for the theaters who were due to come and for the venue so that we can reschedule the project as soon as possible. However, please also understand that this process will take a bit of time to manage, as it is unclear at the moment the timing and scope of the health situation as it develops and we wish to reschedule this project in a manner where we will not simply have to postpone it again if the situation has not cleared up by that time.
I am very sorry to have to postpone the project as this is the first time in almost 18 years we will not have a Spring NYIOP session in NYC. Additionally, this is only the SECOND time since the beginning of NYIOP that we have had a session canceled due to Act of God situations - the other was the Icelandic volcano eruption in 2010 and auditions in Naples, Italy, ironically.
I completely understand your frustration about this situation, but I promise you that I will work very hard to make sure the postponed dates will be just as exciting or even more exciting, so that it is worth the wait.
This being said - stay safe - stay healthy - wash your hands - protect your families and loved ones
CORONAVIRUS UPDATE as of 9 March
Because many are concerned about upcoming travel abilities due to the Coronavirus problem around the world currently, we want to comment about the situation in relation to the New York auditions coming up.
As of now, ALL THEATERS LISTED have purchased their flight tickets and reserved their hotel for the period and are 100% intending to attend the NYC auditions.
The auditions will be moving forward.
The only way this would change would be an officially mandated travel stop issued by either the US government or the government of the departure country.
NYIOP returns to New York City for the last FLAGSHIP casting auditions in the USA for the 2019-20 season.
We will bring a STUNNING group of minimum 5-6 theaters to NYC to hear you and HIRE YOU!
THIS is the project that made NYIOP the industry leader in building bridges to Europe for you.
Register today and choose your own date and time to audition.
